The second-hand shopping app has revised its sizing categories for women's and children's garments failing to inform every member regarding the update. Social Media Backlash Many shoppers and sellers are posting online claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category than originally posted because of the remapping. The platform stated the new system was more in line with similar services. The platform has recommended to review their products and adjust the sizing manually when needed, resulting in member annoyance. Size Classification Modifications Earlier, the measurements included numerical and alphabetical indicators, such as S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum for example S/UK 8-10. With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Member Experiences One content creator, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded on Vinted with size 14 labels were appearing on the platform as size 20–22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they're going to be very disappointed," she said. Required Changes A different user, located in England, stated she felt frustrated because the modification necessitated personal updates the measurements for "each individual item". "This situation is especially annoying, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she explained. Platform Context The app has more than 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members. It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: previously, the platform withdrew an update concerning shipment methods following member complaints.
